How long are the trips?

  • Trips can last up to 6 - 12 days.

Do I have to be a member of Rock Bridge to come on the trip?

  • Members and attendees of Rock Bridge will have first priority of going on the trips.
  • People who do not attend Rock Bridge will be considered if space is available.

Is there an age minimum to going on the trip?

  • Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or other adult. Some trips may have different requirements based on the location and scope of work involved.

Is there a team size limit for the trips? If so, how are the teams decided on?

  • For every trip, there is a size limit, and it changes depending location of the trip. It is rare for a team to be much higher than 20. If we have more applications than spots available, then team composition is determined based information contained in the application, time the application was turned in, availability to go at a different time, and in some cases, experience. We do not like turning people away from trips, and would rather work with individuals to recommend another time and/or location to participate in global missions.

What if I can't afford to go?

  • Each participant is expected to pay for trips up to $1,000. To help our church “live sent”, Rock Bridge will subsidize up to 50% of the costs for first-time trip participants on trips exceeding $1000 per person.
  • Additionally, we are committed to helping you raise support in a biblical, prayerful, and successful way. Experience has shown that sending prayer and support letters to family and friends coupled with your own passion for the mission trip is the best way to see God move to provide the necessary funds.

Do I need a passport to go?

  • Yes. For all travel outside of the U.S.A., you will need a valid and current U.S. Passport.  It takes a minimum of 6 weeks to get a passport.
  • Apply for a passport.

Is there a deadline for the application?

  • No.  There is not a deadline for the application, but these trips can fill up fast, so get them in as soon as possible.

Where do I turn my money? Who do I make my check out to?

  • Bring checks to the Rock Bridge offices or to the Trip Leader. Make checks out to "Rock Bridge Community Church" and put "MISSIONS" in the Memo line.
