Step Together
As a church we want to be a reflection of Christ, we want to see more people become His disciple, and we want our impact to expand to match His global purpose. Our prayer is similar to John the Baptist's words about Jesus in John 3:30 - "He must become greater, I must become less."
We are asking ourselves to make "less is more" decisions: less time spent on ourselves, more time spent for God and others; less money for temporary things, more money invested eternally; less energy on our agenda, more energy focused on His. This initiative will involve the following components:
- Building: renovate the old Piggly Wiggly store to give us a long-term semi-permanent building.
- Giving: doubling our missions budget (local and global) in 2011
- Going: mobilizing our church to take short but significant mission trips and mobilizing our small groups to serve locally
- Praying: becoming a "house of prayer" through a 24|7 prayer effort
- Planting: we need to plant many more small groups throughout NW Georgia
Here are a few ways to begin this journey and seize opportunity:
Follow Me message series: this series will outline scripturally what it really means to follow Jesus. If you must miss a service, grab a CD or listen/watch online to stay current with how God is speaking to us through His Word.
Step Together Giving Campaign: these monies will help us to renovate the old Piggly Wiggly Grocery store to give us a long-term semi-permanent location. We are seeking to bring our campus giving in line with our 2010 spending to allow us to become self-supporting as we simultaneously increase how much we invest in local and global missions. Prayerfully consider what God would have you give, above and beyond your regular giving.
